First, let me tell you a few things:
If something is free, it doesn't mean it isn't good. Actually, some of these free people search engines I consider to be better than most of the paid ones...
I'm too tired of those "paid directories" that require you $10-$50 for mediocre information.
However, let's begin.

Wink is one of the best people search engines EVER. It searches through social networks and it's sometimes even better than Google! So check it out. Now let's go to #5.

123 People is a truly remarkable service I found. It allows you to search by name in US, UK, Switzerland and other countries around the world.
The results you'll get are:
- pictures
- email addresses
- phone numbers
- social networking profiles
- videos
- documents
However, the disadvantage is that those results may be too broad especially if the person you're looking for has a common name. However this doesn't stop you from trying it out.
This is so easy to use, you won't need any fitness tips in order to move a mouse and click a button and search!

The thing Spock does is to search through multiple social networks as well around the web to find as many information on the person you're searching for.
In the search results you can choose whether to see the pictures, websites, news, quotes or related people connected to that person.
Spock is a truly remarkable search engine, however not as remarkable as #1 which I consider to offer more relevant results.
3. WhitePages
WhitePages is the mother of free public record directories.
It currently indexes data on over 200 individuals accross US alone. This is truly one of the best people search services on the planet.
2. Yasni
This not-so-well-known German company became one of the best people search engines that give you their results for free. They are truly remarkable.
They will display you all the social networking results for the person that you're looking for + some highly relevant search results too.

Reunion has maybe the best free search engine available. It searches through its network of over 40 million members + Wink.com + Zoominfo.com.
Be aware that although this is not 100% free website, its search engine is free and very, very valuable. So, in case you find the people you're searching for on Reunion then there's a huge chance they're on other social networks too!
So you're just using their search engine as a 'shortcut' because it searches through multiple engines at once. You don't want to go to 20 different websites (that takes time) but instead use Reunion's engine. Believe me, it's worth it.

gives current address and phone number for free for one day only. One has to utilize this option within 24 hours. Once this is missed the 2nd time you can't as it logs the ip address.
it is easy and free to find the missing persons' current address and / or phone number instantaneously.

Really interesting. Wish these engines worked for Indian data as well. Mostly its the Americans who are easy to trace online. Indian records are not digitalized as yet to the extent that would be helpful to a genealogist
